I haven't got out to dig lately what with work, and new home, and toddler, insert sad face here, but I have had some luck lately at the local Sunday flea market...Met a local digger there that gave me some hot tips that I'm gonna follow up on at some point here soon(I hope), he also had bottles for sale cheap, decent stuff. Got a nice aqua 1870s six sided pepper sauce from him for $3! Strolled my boy up to his table this past Sunday, and spotted these two littles. I got them for $1.80, all the change in my pocket at the time. The Bromo I got 1) cuz it was so cheap, and 2) cuz it's got the gloppiest top I've ever seen. There's more glass in the lip/neck then in the main body of the bottle. It will live with the dozens of other Bromos I've got. Now onto the other little bottle. What's with this color? I've never dug a purple bottle before, found some sun colored bottles and shards here and there, but nothing this dark. That the guy told me he dug it himself, and that he charged me less then a dollar lends me to believe that this is not a victim of radiation poisoning for profit... what do you all think? I don't see a PURPLE bottle there, just a DARK COBALT that looks right to me. The Bromo is terrific, I would have bought them also. No nuking going on there in my opinion. Jim

I don't see purple either, but I have one to compare. [attachment=image.jpg]

I have an unembossed crown top beer that is like that. It is definitely cobalt, but when compared to some of the others it appears almost purple. But it was dug, so I don't know why I question it.
