I agree. I am a bit suspicious of the lip though but need to check it out in the A.M. I'm not sure this flask is supposed to have a sheared top. Maybe others who know will add comments.

Thanks Jim. I used to have one like that or similar and thought it had an applied collar. Those are very attractive flasks.

The earlier versions of these with an open pontil are generally sheared lips, it is the slightly later version that usually has an applied collar. That mold impression is great Bill. That's what would be important to me if I were a buyer. Some people are funny about the fine details like lips. I've always felt they were just at the whim of the maker or the demands of who ordered them.
