Hello all,
I've been everywhere on the web (You gotta believe me) and can't find one for sale or sold. I have many books, but not the one I need, and can't find a listing.
It's "the collectors fooler" in teal blue. A GI-107a Jenny Lind calabash flask.
Pontil scar and has applied sloping collar, crude glass, bubbles and inclusions throughout. McKearin's (Bottles, Flasks and Their Ancest...) lists it as probably 1930's and counterfeit.
I talked (called) to a collector today in Fla., he collects these, but I'm looking for more opinions. It's definately Clevenger Bros. but still a great flask (probably one of their best).
Here's the info I'm looking for:
About how many were made, a few or many? This bottle is not that common, it seems.
The color is not that common for this one either. Has anyone seen or heard of a selling (or asking) price for these?
This is a truly beautiful bottle and I'll post a picture soon. In the meantime, a picture of one is on Digger O'dell's site.
