I have a bottle like the common Johann Hoff bottle in amber, but it's marked "Joh: Hoff" on one shoulder, "Berlin" on the opposite side. Is this marking unusual? I haven't seen it before. It's a beautiful whittled amber.

Looks older. Berlin, PA. Usually nothing on the other side from Johann Hoff (not abbreviated) embossing. Nice one.

That's a nice earlier one for sure...probably the nicest one I have seen. Berlin is for Berlin, Germany and it seems like only the very early ones are embossed with that. In 1869 Tarrant & Co. of New York were sole distributors of this and I think the "Berlin" embossing may have been dropped around that time. Cool find!
