I just recently found out (and I'm 33 years old.) that my mother who is my best friend has been collecting bottles her whole life! I see her 2 to 3 times a week she still lives in the same house I grew up in and I had not a clue.So anyway shes going through some hard financial times who isn't, so we're sitting at the kitchen table discussing her finances and she says B.J. ( thats what she calls me it stands for Bert James.) walk on out to the barn with me please, Of Course I just think she needs to do something to get her mind off the situation. We go in and she shows me... Bottles upon Bottles upon Bottles, I'm talking hundreds maybe even into the thousands! It is unreal I have never seen anything like it in my life! Here comes the kicker she looks at me tears starting to swell in her eyes and says do you think we might be able to get a couple hundred for all of these. FOR ALL OF THESE! Are you kidding me, I looked at her and smiled put my arms around her and was able to let her know because of all her secret bottle collecting it was all going to be just fine. I have only been through 2 or 3 boxes about 200 bottles earliest I have found so far is 1854 the newest 1972 all different kinds. Seriously it truly is a Lot. lolSo as I pull out boxes I will be selling them in lost, I will be posting in the Buy, Sell, Swap forum and the Auction forum.

That's rather hilarious. If you find any Muskegon/ Grand Haven stuff from before 1930 or any pre-1900 Michigan stuff in color show me some pics please? I might be interested.

Bert, where are you located. I sometimes buy large lots of bottles. I'm in Texas but we travel a lot. Will be going through LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, OH later this month. If you are anywhere in that area I could look at bottles in person. Thanks.Jay

Springfield Mo is about 8 hours off my route for this trip. I'd like to see some pictures. I'm especially interested in old sodas, bitters and medicine bottles. If the pictures look interesting I could put Springfield on the route for a trip later in August. You can email me at jamast@suddenlink.net when you get some pics. Thanks.Jay Leon, I'm suspecting the 1854 bottle is really a 1858 Mason jar, just guessing.

Will do and yes I think there is an 1854 Mason jar, I would like for everyone to know I will get out go through and take pics of them as fast as I can please be patient when I said a lot I truly meant a Lot think of an old barn packed half full of boxes filled with bottles because thats what it is. If anyone knows of someone who is here in MO. I could probably use some help. Also now that she ( my Mother ) has let me in on the little secret she wants me to go with her to her friends property where the Okino milk bottling factory was she said its a nice place and she would always come back with a bottle!
