Yea so like the title says, couldn't tell you where it came from, I don't remember digging or finding it, so must've been given by her grandmother or something?? Anyway, I noticed there's no "federal law prohibits.....", so does that mean it's pre prohibition? Forgive my ignorance! Also is it a pretty common bottle up north?

Relatively common nationwide. Hayner was very successful selling by mail order. It is pre pro. Hayner went under during prohibition. Interestingly, they have resurrected the brand in Ohio.

..Hate to tell you what gets left on my stoop! --Those Hayner bots were well done with thick, heavy glass. Nice, but very plentiful. Anybody want to venture a guess when the umbrella decending from the neck began + wrapped up as a design element?

Judging by how many are unearthed on episodes of "Below The Plains" YouTube channel when Tom and Jake excavate turn-of-the-century privy pits, which were once associated with North Dakota hotels, the Hayner liquor seems to have been a popular "house brand" whiskey. I suspect that both mail-order delivery and volume pricing factored in the product's popularity.

One feature of "Below The Plains" that I particularly enjoy is the historical background information, which the producers provide on many of the products and/or manufacturers of the glass, pottery, metal, leather and cloth artifacts that they recover. Vintage advertisements are among the contextual insights they display during a typical dig episode. I recall one vintage Hayner ad which showed the volume purchase discount schedule that the distiller offered!
