Little brown bottle - type? date? Help!

Found this adorable little bottle and not sure what the markings mean (see pic of bottom). One side is smooth and the rest is ribbed. Would love any guesses! ty

My best guess is some kind of pill bottle, likely 30s-40s. Made by the Owens-Illinois Glass Co.

The number 8 to the right of the diamond/circle logo is the last number of the year it was produced, the diamond/circle logo went into use after 1929 and out of use before 1958 so your bottle is either from 1938 or 1948.
