Lot of insulators from auction

Several weeks ago I went to an auction to purchase some old soda bottles which I collect and ended up bidding on a couple buckets of assorted bottles and such. Came home with around 20 some glass insulators, most are Hemingrays of different size and color but I had a couple others as well. I don't know much about insulators and was just wondering if there is a way to determine the age of them and how do you know who manufactured the insulators such as the one I posted here that is an American Tel. & Telegraph insulator? Several of them are in great shape while some are a little rough. [attachment=IMG_0526.JPG] [attachment=IMG_0525.JPG] I'lll post a couple pics of two that aren't Hemingrays. I put one lot of 9 assorted insulators on Craigslist and on some FB garage sale sites for only $2 each but no one seems interested around here. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! MIKE

Dunno about the forum, but I clicked on YouTube and it downloaded a virus that is even now wreaking havoc on my desktop. FML. As for your insulators, A. T. & T. is both Hemingray and Brookfield. Early 1900s. Pretty common. Anything on the dome of it? If so, it's Brookfield (unless an "H.") As for that Brookfield, I'd love to see a better pic of it, for it looks really neat.

I'll try messing around with the pics some more, have posted stuff here in the past with no text/photo issues, I think today is the first I've seen of it. I'll see if I can get a better pic of the Brookfield, it's actually one the is probably in about the worst shape of the lot I got that day. MIKE

My advice is, when next you insert pics like that, hit enter after you type a line of text. Then post the image. Then hit enter and post another image or line of text. Hit enter again. It's all about that enter button. And, yes, bluegrass rules; but heavy metal is much more enjoyable.

The BROOKFIELD is a CD 112 nicknamed a "Keg" style circa 1890 - 1910. A number of companies made similar shapes. That A.M TEL. & TEL. CO. (perhaps not with all the periods) is a CD 121 (Toll), circa 1900 - 1930, probably made by HEMINGRAY but as Bear said possibly BROOKFIELD. Neither is worth more than a couple of bucks but still collectible. I am fond of the "Kegs". Jim
