So, there's a hole open where I work on the lower east side, and they are down about 12' below grade into the the landfill layers of Manhattan's historic shoreline. So far it's been shards, but I keep going back to the pile looking, hoping for something whole. here's what I've found so far.

I can see why you keep checking back, I'd be there every chance I could. Good luck! If I was to hazard a guess on the lip fragment, I would say carboy/demijohn, as I have seen many with extremely thick tops.

That huge lip is a from a prehistoric megabottle. This dominant race was wiped out with the dinosaurs. [:-]

Keep looking, some whole bottles are bound to pop up!
