I had to go get a flat tire fixed yesterday and stopped by an antique store while out. While I was there I found this LNER insulator. This is my first foreign one so I had to share. It even came with the bracket.

That's quite an unusual find for an antique store in the U.S.! I recognized the insulator and hand logo as Bullers, which was a large insulator manufacturer in England. Had to look up LNER, which is London & North Eastern Railway. The shape is known as a "cordeaux" and was the standard type in Britain. Interesting that it's dated 1940, which would mean it was wartime production.

Thank you for the information on it. Lets just say I was pretty surprised when I saw it. Like you said it is unusual to see this type of stuff in a U.S. at an antique store. I sure was happy though. The history is one of my favorite parts of these things.
