did it have a lid ? not a lot of paper label stuff survived , most would of faded away long ago

No, no lid. It would have been a cork. I found it closer to the surface, forgot whether it was upside down or not (for water to get in). I would assume that it was though.

Those old personalized or localized meds are the rarest and also are a very cool conversation starter. Amazing find man!

I've found a bunch of these particular type pill vials with preserved labels. Usually the interior label survives if the lid is on the vial.
