In general I bet there is a good explanation.

Over at the metal detecting forum a few years ago there was an issue with a guy letting a fellow MDer borrow a propointer until his got back from being repaired.
well the guy had a heart attack, and was in the hospital and wasn't trying to be evil about it.

sometimes life can derail the train leaving others waiting at a station down the tracks..

Yeah I hope it all turns out for you. I once took the advice of a fellow member. I let this guy tumble my (one of a kind) swirled colored sodas. He had it for 3 months, and sent it back broken with a note.

Stuff can happen, all the more reason to not alter the glass in the first place. Lost, broken, fraudulence or whatever, leave it be.
Unless you don't care about the piece in the first place or do it yourself I say let it show it's age.

After some investigating it turns out the guy who cleaned the bottles has a very shady past, I get the feeling the Gopher is screwed out of his bottles....[:-]

I still don't know who but if it's common place they have no right to be here.
If they have 1000 satisfied and a few are not, well that a chance you take.
Nothing is ever perfect.
