Metal not bottle

I picked up an oval piece of metal where I’ve been finding bottle stoppers and shards. It was totally rusted out and I wish I took a photo of it in that condition. I thought I saw the letters LIC and the number 6 but wasn’t sure. I just read about using lemon juice to remove rust - and it works!
May be tough to read but it says
