I have a Qt. Milk Bottle that I found in a second hand store recently. My milk books are in Florida. This one has a slug plate front panel that is a circle with the lettering: “/ LITCHFIELD CO. MILK&CREAM †in the top circle of embossing. Then below that, in a straight horizontal line: “/ AUGUST FRIEDRICKS â€, and in the lower part of the slug plate circle: “/ 735 E 142 ND †with a line under the raised ND. I have to assume it is a New York City bottle – but I don’t have a look-up here. I also bought the bottle because it has a mechanical metal lid with wire hinging and lock wire, which I am not familiar with, except for the Lightning caps. There is no other embossing on the cup bottom, and it is clear. The finish appears to be tooled. I decided that some of you are more familiar with milks than I am. RED Matthews

I grew up not far from Litchfield, Illinois and it is a small town. I'm pretty sure there is no 142nd st..[;)]
