I finished work early yesterday and couldn't help but stop for a dig on my way home. I'm still exploring and trying to find older spots since I have come up with some earlier stuff but the overwhelming majority seems to be from the 1930s. Here are some of the finds from the digging (nothing too exciting) and a sign I found scratching the surface trying to find the boundaries of the dump.

considering the fact no one has been sending telegrams for a long time it must be fairly old , western union was a major company so I doubt its rare but still neat to find in a dump

Telegrams outlasted enamel signs. Pretty sure telegrams were still going strong into the 60s. Apparently Western Union was still delivering them until 2006, though I don't know who was sending telegrams in the 21st century. I believe Western Union enamel signs are quite common but don't remember seeing this specific one before.

I don't remember ever sending a telegram , do recall going to the post office a few times around early 2000's to buy money orders , must of bought something online or some reason I needed to send money to someone and did it that way , wasn't thru western union but Canada post

of course you'd never do that now if you had paypal or electronic transfer
