I've had great input on past posts and would like comments as to weather the more experienced collectors think I found a mouth blown turn molded wine bottle. I found this bottle in about 15' of water in front of a home built during the late 1800's. I've found other old jars dated 1903-1906 in same area. Normally I only keep fully intact bottles earlier than 1940; this one struck me as an old bottle due to its "patina". All these bottles found in a foot of muck are usually preserved perfectly, this one had lots of horizontal marks and was/is very dark. I figured I'd cut off the jagged edges, run it through the bottle tumbler and see what it looks like, think it makes a nice vase.

It cleaned up really well, but is still very dark. It has huge air seeds approaching where the neck of the bottle was. It also is covered in little air seeds, all vertically oriented. I cannot find any seams. There distinct horizontal-almost gouges- around the bottle. I'm thinking older wooden mold and re-used a lot?

Totally new at this, here's some pics, I'd be interested to hear others opinions.

It looks turn-molded to me. These can be difficult to date sometimes because while the practice was discontinued fairly early in the US, it continued for much longer in Europe and was widely used on imported bottles.
