Mustard Jars

I found these two over the weekend. The glass jar is from California Conserving Co. San Francisco which dates it 1860-1900. The ceramic looks like a French mustard jar. I have not seen any ceramic jars this shape and size except those in my internet search. And I presume also pre 1900, but don't know. Any thoughts or information would be appreciated.

So that's what I found mustard, have no clue what R means.
