Hi all, I found this really neat Chinese Cash coin at a colonial house foundation. I was surprised to find it because it is about 5000 miles out of place. This coin dates in the early 1800s. I have been wearing it on a chain around my neck every time I go metal detecting. Maybe it will bring me good luck with bottle digging too![:)]--Justin

Neat coin no doubt. Doesn't the chain damage the coin?Think I think I'd use leather or a string.

Hi jhazuga0985, welcome to the forum.
The chinese cash are nice to find and while they are a not unusual find on the Goldfields of Australia some of them date back many hundreds of years before they where lost (there have been cash 500 or 600 years old found in the 1850's goldfields). Another interesting fact about them is that they where cast instead of minted.
There are endless different one's and you would need to speak with someone who specializes in Chinese coins to tell you if it's a good one or not, they are all good to find though [;)] .
