Hey Warren, did you dig yours as well? I thought it was pretty cool. I would never have guessed it was a whet stone but if you look at the top side above the word Bristol, it is evident where they ran the blade over and over it . Kelley

Yea, They apparently were popular. I know two other people who have dug them also. Don't understand why anyone would throw one away. I've got every whet and oil stone I ever owned, about a dozen.
