Hello, my names Wyatt from Michigan I’m 18 I’ve been Digging/Metal Detecting ever since I was like 12 and bottle hunting since I was like 8. Thanks for the post! Sounds like most of the same things I've collected at one time or another in my life!! My first memory of fossils is finding what we thought were "Indian Beads" among the pea gravel in our driveway in Central Illinois when I was a kid - I was probably about 6 years old. Many years later I found out they were fossilized Crinoid discs / segments! Later got into stamp collecting, insulators, bottles, postcards, Indian artifacts and other stuff -- always something "new" out there to pique my curiosity. I think some people are naturally much more inclined to collecting (maybe the Hunter-Gatherer gene is stronger??? Ha!) but others don't seem to be interested in collecting at all.

Welcome to the site. where in Michigan do you live, I dig with another Michigan collector in his early 20's who is a member in here that collects/interested in the same kind of stuff you like. Maybe he'll respond in here but he's not in here too much. LEON.

P.S. Curious what that hutch bottle is in your pic?

Welcome from New York! I see a crown perfumery and an old hutchinson-style bottle in that first pic, not easy bottles to find! Nice looking collection!

I agree. some people Love collecting and some Don't do it at all. must all be in the genes. Also the Navy Blue rock in the photo I believe is to be an indian artifact! Not sure tho. I could use a second opinion, My thoughts is its a piece of flint used to sharpen blades like arrow heads or knifes found it in the woods on top of a flat hill next to a dried up river the sides of it are also smoothed out most likely from sharpening if real most likely from the Navajo tribe in Swartz Creek MI

His name is James, he sometimes digs up near Metamora, Clarkston & Flint area. I dig with him down here in Detroit Area. Theres a guy in here, his name was Spirit Bear, But he changed his name & forgot what it is now, Robby Racoon or something like that, he lives up near your way. I was hoping you dug a tough Michigan Hutch. LEON.
