Nice December hike

The old Railroad bed I frequent has the Ramapo River running next to it in Harriman, NY. After Irene and Lee visited us this year they dredged that section of the river to help with lessening flooding. I wandered the dredgingsand this is what I found.

The insulator says 55 Fulton St. NY. Pattened Jan 25 1870. It also in capital letters has ER, which I know is for Erie Railroad which ran the line many many years ago. I think this is an early Brookfield.

The Hutch.. Mack & Ivins, Monroe, NY. 98% of top gone, but still a keeper till I find a whole one []

The absolute best find was this Oakley. The nice aqua color stood out on the brown bank like a turd in a punch bowl. I saw it at a distance and knew it was a good one. I will get this guy in the sun to better show him off another day.

excellent insulator, that is indeed an old brookfield. Good find no matter the condition
