While walking the aisles at the local thrift store, an item lurking among modern vases "jumped-out" at me, and once i got closer to inspect it was pleasantly surprised to find the oldest item I've ever seen at the shop!

The paint washed off quite easily and revealed lots of nice whittling. With tax it was 1.07, pretty decent in my opinion, as i haven't had one of these berry bottles before. Maybe next time it'll be a painted Bryant's Cone! One can always hope, heh. Happy hunting everyone!

Is it just my computer, or is the only picture working the one that shows the open pontil bottom? Absolutely great score by the way...something we all dream of finding. I always check the glass wares section of thrift stores in hopes of a score like this.

Wow, I've sure never found anything near that old at a thrift store! Oldest thing I've seen in years was an unembossed tooled lip med with a hole in the corner. That paint looks really recent, I wonder who has pontilled bottles lying around to do crafts with?
