North Florida Local Sodas

Picked up some local sodas at antique mall.
Left to right. Bludwine pre-1921 (Jacksonville, Fl.)
Southern English Ginger Beer Co. (Jacksonville, Fl.). Haven't found much on this one. There are a couple examples online. Opened in 1912. There are a few stoneware/crock jugs. Not many bottles though.

These must be pretty commen. There were several of them to choose from.
My favorite the Palatka Bottling Works bottle. (Palatka, Fl.)This is where I was born and raised and pretty excited to get this one.

I can't remember where I picked up this example, but it had been laying in the Florida sun for a good while!

Nice. The only two similar bottles I've seen online have turned lavender like that.
I met a guy who digs and sells bottles on ebay from Palatka. Has a nice Palatka SS Coca Cola bottle I'm going to look at tomorrow.

The crown-tops are of lesser interest in my collecting. If I hadn't recovered it myself, I might not have it on my shelf. But, it's not possible to completely ignore the allure of local bottles.

I've seen you post several pictures of your bottles on here in the past.. You must have one hell of a collection. I'm just getting started at this and local crowntops are affordable to start with. I'd rather be digging them but I've found out it's hard to locate spots without having contacts to get permission on private property. In the meantime I'll just buy them if I got some extra money.

Local sodas and druggist bottles are the local bottles that are typically available. The pursuit of local bottles must be much easier if one lives in the Northeast. But then, the collecting might not be so satisfying.
