Odd open pontiled bottle.

I got this open pontiled bottle. Very thin glass. It stands almost 10" tall and 2" at the widest point. Odd funnel like lip. Light chip on bottom appears to be from the manufacturing. A slight haze inside light scratches but no chips. Tons of bubbles and character. What is it and when where these made or used. No embossing anywhere. Thanks for any replies.

My first thought was capers also, but yours looks like a much narrower neck. Probably not American made. I think some of these unique items might have been laboratory equipment, hand made for a specific purpose. Not that yours is, but its another possibility,

It looks like there is a worn area around the neck. Maybe wire worn?

I don't have the answer to that, Cam. The emerald green color is favored for French food/preserves bottles. Perhaps it's the eye-appeal. Perhaps it's UV light protection. Perhaps it's masking unappealing contents (preserved capers are not particularly attractive, for example). Perhaps it's a combination of these factors. It's not just capers, either.
