I have one of those "read it once and remember it" kind of brains, it started when I learned the alphabet backwards as a little kid. The funny thing is I don't set out to try and remember stuff, but once I read it it seems to stay in the Rolodex in my head...
Jim: It's definitely good to have that kind of memory in this hobby, especially if you're seeking to add variants with the tiniest of differences. I'm blessed and cursed by how my memory works. I remember just about every bottle in my collection, but then, for the life of me, I can't locate any specific bottle on the hundred or so linear feet of shelving I have my collection displayed upon. Now, when I go to scan down the rows of shelves looking for a particular bottle, I get hung up -- and happily so -- looking at other specimens in my collection. So, what starts out as a 5-10 minute hunt for one bottle usually becomes an hour or two of collection gazing. Man, I love it, despite my tone in this posting! (Sorry to have hijacked this thread.)
