Old bottle from Connecticut

Hi all, I got this bottle in the 90's. I Believe it is from the 1800's. Can anyone shed any light on it? It came from New England - Connecticut. I am still figuring out how I can clean the inside (it was a dump find) there's twisting marks in the glass near the top. It looks like an old wine bottle to me.

It's a late 19th century champagne bottle, could have held other types of wine as well. I like that twisted neck and applied top!
