On Friday I went out to do a little creek bottle hunting. Found a few beat up but still in one piece. A 1943 Coke bottle, cork top flask, medicine bottle and some cone shaped bottle that is screw top but thought it looked cool. On the way home I see some road/sidewalk construction going on and stopped to see if they are digging anything good up. Near where they are working is some woods on city property and I notice that it is just littered with broken straight side Coke bottles. So I come back Sunday to see if I can dig up a whole one. Unfortunately it was almost impossible to dig because it was nothing but broken glass probably a foot deep. I'm taking a guess here but the old Coca Cola plant was down the road and this must have been a landfill for all their chipped, cracked or broken bottles. Error bottles. I found four that were broken at the neck so I took home to cut with tile saw and maybe just see if they would make a good display. The one with the roses in it was my favorite and I think the oldest.

if there was a large concentration of broken bottles it does sound like it was some sort of dumping area at the time

not sure of the likelihood of there being a non broken one in there

the gainsville coca cola is a neat one

It could be a bottlers dump. If so that is a really great find as that sort of dump could produce some killer and valuable sodas!
