Picked these up this past weekend. The pistol I'm sure is a candy container. The pinch bottle I know nothing about. Seams on all three sides that disappear at the base of the neck. Ground neck for stopper. 9 1/2 inches tall. It looks like the designs were done with a cutting wheel of some kind ? Any info such as how it was made and age would be appreciated. Haig & Haig used them a lot but others did too.A three leaf mold or as they were called in the old day's "blown three mold" is how it would have been made.Terminology changes.[:)]

Well, I guess I will have to write a little bit here. I couldn't really see the mold seam separating the shoulder sections from the dip mold bottom section. Normally the dip mold bottom part casting could not have the cavity iron chilled to Dendritic iron-carbon type of iron because the chill could not be removed from the castings. When the iron has the Dendritic structure, the heat removal from the glass is slower, and the blows with more even thickness, for clarity. When the glass stays hotter it blows against the mold with even thickness. I refer to the variable thickness as Cold Mold Ripple. Not whittle like the old glass books call it. You can't whittle mold iron. RED Matthews

Vaxck again - I just went back to look for that cold mold ripple and I still couldn't see the seam yet, But I realized that with the shape of that bottom portion, maybe they could have knocked a chill out of the casting. I would like to get my hands on that one for study. Are you selling it? RED M.
