I have seen these "little brown jug" nic nacs before; however, this is the first one I've ever seen that had this Mountain Dew tampo on it. I've seen this same style of tampo on items associated with bottlers on several occasions. I even own a Budweiser mini-bottle with a paper label that has "Souvenir of Richlands, VA" on it, which I surmise came from the 7-up bottler there. I wonder if maybe this was some kind of promotional item given out to promote Mountain Dew. I guess there is just no way to really tell, but it's neat all the same.

Hey Joseph,

What means this "tampo?" Don't believe I've ever seen this word or term.

I don't think you're meaning this Tampo...

Is it the printing process?

Speaking of Mountain Dew jugs, I was looking around and found the one pictured below, which is the first one like it I've seen or heard about. I've seen lots of the standard paper label jugs, but not this one. It was described as ...

"Very rare 1957 one of a kind unique Mountain Dew Gallon Glass Jug. This bottle was only made one time and was for a Shriners benefit here in West Virginia."

I can't make out the small letters beneath "Mountain Dew" and only part of the words ...

"That Fresh Dew - Do ????" (Taste ?)

Anyhoo, I thought I'd share it and see if anyone is familiar with it.
