possible turquoise find

I found this rock that appears to be turquoise in a creek in Tennessee. There have been no confirmed turquoise finds in Tennessee and the only other thing it could be is slag but it is too waxy looking.

Is it real stone? Looks like it may be a chip from a bigger item made from that material. Turquoise?

Were there iron furnaces in your area, possibly upstream? Looks like 'awful', the glass slag from the furnace, after tumbling in the creek for a 100+ years.

I dont know if there was an iron furnace but there was a gunpowder mill.
