On Sunday me and Leon we going to dig a privy that we probed out a couple weeks ago but decided to stop at this one area that I used to dig at a few years ago. I was showing Leon where I have dug before, then moved over to the other side of where I was digging and the probe felt like a perfect privy sound and it measured out nice size 6' x 4' . We started digging and the ground was nice and fluffy. not many bottles until right near the bottom but at 4' we found one small puff bottle, I said the bottom of it looked like a polished pontil . Leon said no I never heard of that, then right after that out popped a nice flaired lip open pontil puff. After that it was all pontils, polished pontils and hinge molds from the 1850's & 1860's. Quite rare to find a nice pontil privy up here in Michigan. There were 4 or 5 that said Rochester Chemical works. The best bottle was broke, a amber Newmans Golden Fruit Bitters. The Best whole bottle was a light green Dimick's Capillary for the Hair. Tom
