Purple Bottle: "R Vagt Brooklyn NY"

I haven't been able to find this bottle on the internet. It is a purple bottle with "R Vagt" on top and "Brooklyn, NY" on the bottom and some sort of initial design in between. What type of bottle is this? Whats it used for? Is it of any value?

Looked like a returnable soda bottle from around 1900.. until I saw the top.. ketchup maybe??

The purple bottle you have was from my great-grandfather's factory in Brooklyn that opened around the turn of the 19th century on Emerson Place in Brooklyn. It was sold in the 1950's. Where did you find it? Do you still have it?

That bottle is from my great grandfather's factory in Brooklyn. I would like to buy it if you want to sell it. However, if you are that lovely woman who sent me a Vagt bottle some years back, and this is a picture of the bottle you sent, I was just reminded of your generosity. Thanks Janet Vagt Scully
