R. &. C/N.Y. Squat Soda Bottle

Dug this last weekend in an early privy here in Texas...just embossed "R. &. C/N. Y." and is a dark aqua (tealish) color. Appears to have an iron pontil though there is little residue left. I've seen a lot of New York sodas over the years but not this one...anyone know what the R & C stands for? Are these a common New York bottle? I thought it was neat how they put a big square period after the & but not after the C (and the embossing is so spread out that they almost ran out of room for the C on the mold).

Thanks so much for the comments...it really is a pretty bottle. I got the black stuff out of the shoulder and just love the patina. Pulled a few other pontiled bottles out of the hole but as is typical down here, they were common stuff (Mrs. Winslow's, Barry's Tricopherous, a big paneled food, and a puff). In the top of the hole were two Congress & Empire Saratogas, a bunch of blackglass, and right at the top of the hole was a Warners Safe Cure and a few Crown Top beers...the privy spanned about 50 years of trash!
