Killer example Mike! I love the Smith pickles. Yours looks to be a beautiful deep teal. I have one of his brothers [;)]

Here is the Pickle I got. Not green and not embossed but a respectable IP pickle any day. I admit I was a little jealous of the Smith.

Damn got to wipe the drool off my chin.
ORIGINAL: Potlidboy

Calcarpetbagger & I had the wonderful experience several years back of locating an ancient dump area in the Sacramento Delta region....Numerous wonderful items came to light....Not only was the site an extremely old one for California, but most items were of a high quality....These people wanted only the best & it showed in the quality of the items we recovered....I can't go into detail on much of the dig to protect the innocent (a quote from Dragnet)...I am sworn to secrecy...However, the dig is looked at by me as one of the best I was ever envolved in...The pictured "right coast pickle" is emerald green, highly whittled, with a golf ball sized "sticky ball" pontil....It is embossed W.D.Smith N.Y.....There were several colored sodas, bitters , ales & foods that were obviously discarded by the "gold rush community" & we were lucky enough to fine it....In a word EUREKA.......[:)][:)]

I appoligize for the photos...The embossing just doesn't show well through the immense whittle...such a problem.[:)]

Here you go Stevie.....Shhhhhhhh about the details......We may want to go back....
