A Vicks Vatronol, a MoM bottle, and an Anderson's Beverage soda bottle. Anderson's seems to be made by the same Reed Glass Co from my stretch marks thread. I have two questions if anyone wants to take a whack at them.

1) When was Vicks Vatronol discontinued?
2) Want to help me get a date on this Milk of Magnesia bottle? From what I can tell it's somewhere between late 30's or late 50's but I'd love it if someone could help me narrow it down. It's a bit hard to read in a picture but it reads (from top to bottom) "Milk of Magnesia" "The Chas H phillips Chemical Co" Glennbrook Conn" Either way I'm pretty happy that I finally found a cobalt blue bottle with embossing that's at least vintage. Here's the bottom:

I searched newspapers.com for vicks vatronol. The most recent entry is from Montana in 2008. Some one dug a bottle out of a dump, looked it up when he got home, and said it was still in business. Most recent before that was 2001, talking about how it was being restricted because it contained ephedrine, which is used to make crystal meth (along with sudafed and other sinus medicines). I'm guessing that's why they discontinued it.

Here are some more creek finds from today:

An inkwell I'm guessing is from the 50's, a late 60's (?) Coke bottle, something called "Dr. August Koenig's Hamburger Tropfen", an Atlas Wholefruit Jar without top, a local soda from Perry, Ny called Zieman's, one of those funky interesting shaped vintage Ball jars, a marble, and of course the standard Vick's Vaporub.

Unfortunately, it looks like my bottle digging/creek walking is going to be put on hold for right now. My carpal tunnel syndrome has had a nasty flare up. I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the repetitious nature of cleaning dozens upon dozens of bottles.

The funny thing is, while obviously I can still buy antique bottles online, I don't really know what kind of bottle I'd want to buy if I could choose just about any type of bottle. I'm so accustomed to just...finding what I find, and either I want to bring it back or I don't.

I got ahold of a wrist stabilizer for my bad hand and took a brief walk the last couple days for some light digging. I still have one good hand, and an appointment with a ortho doctor coming up. So the CTS is being addressed. Here's more good stuff, this time mostly dug out of the creek bank.

I know this bottle isn't all that exciting being a smoothie but I only now just found one of these type intact. Anyone know what kind of bottle it is? I figure it's early 1900's...ish.

Went out along some RR tracks today looking for an insulator.

and I found one.

unfortunately it does have a chip, but I'm still going to hang onto it seeing as how it's still in fair shape compared to how I usually find them

Train soot was also mercifully easy to remove with vinegar and some elbow grease

Your amber smoothie is an Illinois Glass Company bottle, probably for whiskey. The company only used the Diamond logo from 1915-1929, so that's your date range.
