I picked up some nice items (no bottles) this weekend.

Here are Saturday's finds:

A nice White's Binghamton jug with a slightly leaning top and a nice flower.

Some nice advertising, not cheap, but I confirmed a buyer before I bought them.

A 3 gallon Fort Edward crock with handles, some stain and a chip on the inside of the rim.

130318.jpg

A western Pa stipe canning crock.

130341.jpg

A little stool that's dated 1914.

The best find, an 8 foot Firestone porcelain sign with some minor wear. I got lucky with this one. I bought some of the stoneware from the guy and I went back to look at the stool and while I was there he told his wife they wouldn't have room for the sign (it was an indoor show). Of course I asked, what kind of sign do you have? I bought it out of the back of his van in the parking lot.

Sunday's Finds:

A canning crock (with some post manufacture painting) and a yellow ware mold.

An Esso ice pick and a Wilmington Delaware thermometer which was neat to find in D.C.

My favorite find this morning, a shoe shine box, with some early green paint.

These were found in Washington DC and Virginia. I'm only in Delaware part time now...working on my Master's Degree.

I had to pay a good amount for the two clocks and the Tru Ade thermometer, but I confirmed with my good buyer that he was interested before I bought them. I won't make much money, but it is very low risk. The 8 foot sign was a good deal.

Hi all Nice items. I liked this one best but I think it is a crock churn with that type of lid groove. I used one when I was a kid and helping Mom. RED Matthews Sorry I couldn't get the picture, but it was the first one in the series.

Red,

Thanks for looking. I assume you meant the one with the stripes. It has the inside lip grove for a lid, but the picture is deceptive. It is only 7-8 inches tall, so it is a canning crock.
