I have a bottle I found digging that I can find little to no info on. It looks to be 1890's to 1900 soda bottle from Suffern, NY. It says M. Hopper and sons bottling works with a monogram in a slug plate. 8oz. And this bottle not to be sold on the back. Aqua in color, very heavy glass. Looks bim. Anyone have any idea if its common, rare, value, history ect? Thank you

Could be late 1890's but more likely 1900-1910 in my opinion. Don't know anything else about it but nice looking Bottle. LEON.

Thank you. I wasn't 100% sure myself. Unless I know the company's history its kinda hard for me anyways to date these early crowns

The shape, embossing and thickness leads me to believe it's pre-1910. I call them "tweener" (just my nomenclature) soda bottles because they were mostly manufactured 'tween the blob top and ABM eras. Of course this is not completely exclusive and offers a general time frame. The only issue with local sodas is that you won't find much info on them online. You may have to check out historical societies, libraries, and old maps... the maps to give you a clearer idea of where it was manufactured... Suffern is a huge area. Once you identify the exact area, you'll know where to start. Can also use Sanborn Maps from the late 1890s - 1910. These insurance maps show the exact location of businesses during that time.
