Heres one I dug several years back, ground top, embossed LAMB'S PURE VT. MAPLE SYRUP
It had remnants of the original label from West Somerville, Mass. that was really cool...Al

Thanks to Todd, Joe, and Al,

Prior to your posting Todd, I'd never seen the Maple Syrup bottle form. Nothing like a little hexagonal ground top stickiness to pour on the flapjacks...

Thanks for showing these, y'all.

Interesting. I had never seen that form with an out of VT processor. I always assumed that form was exclusive to VT retailers.

Cool thread guys,....I'd like to see any more examples of these cool old pieces of Americana,...anyone else have one around to show? Al,...Love that Patent Whiskey? cylinder bottle next to the Lamb's too! Thanks for showing them....I once was out digging with Penn Digger, and dug a broken Lamb's syrup jar...(Different later form than the ones above.) It was a clear glass jar with a ground top and lot's of embossing. I kept the shards and someday will do a glue back,...simply because some shards are quite purple, and some totally clear! The color difference goes right through the embossing.

Hey, those bottles and the stoneware are nice and all...

But I want to see the 'better" stuff! [:D]

Post some pics of the signs and whatnot; I collect bottles, but also books, coins, ephemera, advertising, hand-forged tools, ancient artifacts, blah blah blah. I'd like to see what ya scored big on! [:)]

Hey guys and gals, just happened across an interesting back issue of Antique Bottle and Glass Collector (Sept 05)....Then I remembered this thread...It had an interesting and informative article on Maple Syrup bottles and related items...Most were from New England. but a few were from upstate new york....One of the earlier and more interesting versions was an eight sided aqua blob top with partial label. Here's a few pics. (of pics) sorry for the blur....

20 or more years back, when I worked in my friends sugar woods, we'd wear carpenters aprons when drilling the trees and setting the "spiles"...There were still some left in my pouch, when I ressurected the nail apron for some roofing. I made a small display. Here's some pics. A couple have worked loose. These are interesting and varied, and most have an embossed patent date or trade name.
