Hey Bob -

I think I figured out what happened - in the email box it had my old email address!

I haven't used that address in over a year. I lost the password when stupid Google/YouTube/Yahoo decided to make everyone change this passwords. I made a new one in the middle of the night, but neglected to write it down...and promptly forgot it the next day.

Try sending me a PM now.

CaliKid, that was a most interesting and enjoyable set of photos. Thanks for sharing, it looks like a great adventure.

You are welcome. It was quite the adventure for sure, can't wait for the next one!

ORIGINAL: Photon440 No, I didn't see the guy watching you in that photo. :)

Here is the picture........look CLOSELY!

And in case you think that I am bluffing.......

Here is a picture taken less than one minute before:

First off, great post and pictures. How did you do that without timing out? I would love to visit a beautiful place like that. Also, that is a creepy picture. Is it a ghost, or are people still living there? The old ghost town look brings to mind Virginia City, Nevada. I have a couple of ghost hunting friends that live there. It's extremely "active".

Not sure. I just keep plugging away at it. I'd say that window was open for close to 3 hours before I clicked "OK"

Where to you live? Get in the car and start driving! All kidding aside, yes, I know that I am lucky to be within 4 hours of places like that.

Thanks. I didn't even realize that a man was in it until I got home.

People still live in the town, it is a "living ghost town" you might say. There are just 43 people that live in the town.

Ah yes....ghost stories.

During the mid-1990's, my wife lived and worked in Deadwood, South Dakota. She had the closing shift in an old hotel/casino, and much of the building was comprised of the original structure from the 1880's time period.

At any rate, like I stated above, she had to close the place up each night......alone. She has told me that she repeatedly saw the lone ghost of a man in western garb - he was always wearing a cowboy hat and a duster. He must have been killed in the building back in the day, maybe a poker game gone bad?

Now, don't get the impression that you can just stand there and stare at a ghost - it's all in the peripherals. As soon as you go to actually look, there is nothing there.

Although no longer practicing, my wife was involved with Wicca and Wiccan beliefs for many years. She is also partially Native American. Trust me, she would not lie, and I think that it is fair to say that she knows just a little bit about "that side of things", if you catch my drift.

I have never been quite able to understand how adults in today's supposed age of "enlightenment, logic, and reason" can so adamantly deny the spiritual realm. Go play an Ouija board and then get back to me, lol.

We don't live out West, so no ghost towns on the horizon, but I've always been interested in them. I agree that there are things we can't always see, but they are there. I'm the biggest skeptic ever, but the voices I have caught on my voice recorder are not nothing! I enjoy ghost stories. I have a couple, but I've never seen anything. I think that might freak me out too much. I'm content with EVPs and pictures, for now. Well, there is a place a friend told me about where he is seeing shadows walking around. I wouldn't go there alone, but it would be a sight to see.

I'm intrigued by your photo of bottle art in the desert.
Did you get a close look to see how it was made and what was it made of? Broken bottles, whole bottles, melted bottles?

Surely you got my email this time ... (Question mark) ?

Speaking of deserts, here's one of my favorite sites. Check it out. Especially the multiple images of Bodie, California where I found an old medicine bottle once while walking along the creek bed with my family. But don't try this yourself. Bodie is a State Park and they lock people up for such things.

No, I wasn't able to. I took that picture on full zoom from inside the car.

Believe it or not, that was some guys front yard. And right after I took that picture, he came out of his shack - he had a big beard and dirty blue overalls on. I wasn't sticking around to get any closer to that bottle art.

P.S. I just now remembered that he also had some more art in the front yard - something about 99% and 1% or some such.
