Thought it would be easy picking, after getting hit with a DERECHO.

A wall of wind(derecho) 85+mph from the north, uprooted trees and thought I would be able to just pick up bottles, not.
It got me out there anyway, any guess what year the spark plug is from.

You got hit with one too? We got absolutely hammered by a derecho a month ago with 120mph wind. I'd never even heard of a derecho before it hit. Left entire sections of forest completely flattened.

It was weird, watched it from my window. Blew completely south nothing went down east, west or north. Never heard of it before either.

Dang! If I lived where Mailman1960 or CanadianBottles reside, I'd be torn between bottle digging and salvaging hardwood to mill into lumber or use for firewood after a derecho, tornado or hurricane. Unfortunately, I do not live where such opportunities abound. WAIT! That doesn't sound quite right!

Yeah it's too bad you aren't in the area, there's more wood for the taking than anyone knows what to do with. I hate to see how much is going to the dump (or wherever the city sends wood) but there isn't much I can do with it since I don't have a fireplace or do woodworking.

You would have fire wood for years, 20 trees down right outside my window.

The "spark plug" in the photo is the center electrode of a spark plug from the 1920s and perhaps earlier. They used to be made so that you could unscrew the metal parts and clean or repair them. (I am looking for Connecticut strap side flasks)

Found the downed tree and this is just the beginning, about 3-4 hrs and more all around it.
