Does he have fruit jars ans lids too?

ok those little lids - there are some that could be stamped with the CFJCo monogram. Those are tough to come by

I will take a kitten. Your cats are beautiful.

I would hook you up! Getting way too attached to these 2 sisters…. 1 was so shy and skidish- about 1 in 7 have more wild blood instincts & will need more work to fully socialize, but she’s a different cat, now! Following me everywhere. I want to keep these 2 together- they have a sister who is 1 now. I need to just give her to an awesomely great home.

This is Waffle’s, the older sister. (Hearts…. NOT spots.)she hates her younger sisters, is the problem!
And for your kitten fix:

I love my job! (S)

Probably but not in the $1 or $2 boxes? He was charging me more for lids and stoppers than the bottles? I will look the next time I am up there. I will let u know if I find any-he had a bunch of baskets sitting there with various lids and stoppers.

I've been a care giver to more than one person and have seen Dementia take an unspeakable toll. Sure the bottles are great. As I'm sure we all know they help to center and ground us. Remember we just conserve them until its time to pass them on. There may be some marginal profits along the way. That is okay with me. It all evens out in the end. Save Doug's dig notes. The state archaeologist, Univ.GA-Athens Anthro. Dept., or town library may be interested. Meantime, enjoy save history and looking at those three great puddy cats!!! :) Do they follow each other around the house?...I can already see some of the bottles up on the shelf next to the ship's lantern. Great photos! (Ok I'll say what might/might not be another common thread--"Great nails."). You keep rocking what you're doing Wrangler.

I love that! All of it. Your the only other person I’ve heard elude to what has been my own philosophy- yes, I have all these most awesome antiques that I hunted down to find just the best ones that speak to my heart- but I tell people they really are not mine. I am lucky enough to be their caretaker for a while. And considering how old some of them are, the time I have with them is just a drop in the bucket…. (Humbling, no?) That comes with some responsibilities- I have signed on to some obligations- to be the best caretaker I can be, during our time. I owe that to the people who took care of them in the past, and to the people who caretaker them in the future, and to the piece that came all that way, thru time, and is still more beautiful than ever- and more beautiful than what’s thrown together today. (Which would last just a few years, for the most part.)Bottles fit into that philosophy too! Dementia is so hard for the person with it. Knowing your not right, but you can’t do anything about it. Having to caretake someone with dementia is hard. Finding a home for that person and her dog is also hard. It’s so true about the bottles centering us- my best thinking happens when I’m working on them. I love all the notes inside some of Doug’s bottles- and think there but for the grace of God…. Right? And tell my kids if I get like that ever, just take me out and club me in the head- there’s no dignity in dementia. And while working on Doug’s dig, I give him maximum respect- he was a rebel like I bet most of we bottle diggers are- and obviously he was just as addicted to his hobby as any of us. He wasn’t afraid to go to an on-ramp in Frisco, that was being worked on- on the weekend when nobody was there- to dig bottles up with a screwdriver, in front of a bazillion cars zooming by. That’s like something I could see myself doing! And he had a nice bottle tumbler and used it on most of the good ones. (Thank you, Doug). So-much respect to Doug! I know there’s a story in there that we would all love to hear. I’m amazed u noticed the ship lantern. Any bottles up there are stuck down to giant 24” tile with silicone or museum wax or they would be long gone. And I don’t put anything too special there- much is behind glass, is the only way to do this. I refuse to cage my cats like many breeders do- I can’t stand that practice. Free range kitties here!
