Some interesting Toronto bottles/Jar, Dr. Baker's Asiatic Cholera Remedy (During the Cholera Pandemic in Toronto/Hamilton in the late Victorian Era) too bad top broke off during a move , L.G. McGuinness & Co. Distillery Bottle Army and Navy Brand, Rye, Scotch, Rum, Gin, Brandy (Bottle year 1951; Dug up at an abandoned Navy Port in Georgian Bay) and Holloway's Ointment London (Quackery Medicine) Mid. 19th century Dug in Toronto.

i don't have any stonewer but do have a number of soda water bottles from toronto and druggist bottles , i'd imagine most bottle collectors from ontario have at least a couple toronto bottles .

were any of these found locally in simcoe ? i've often found the odd toronto bottle here

Toronto Bottles maybe 40% of the shelf I’ve Dug up in Simcoe County. 60% I’ve got from garage sales and Antique Stores. From the 40%, the RARE ones are Beaver Soda Water Works (Very Primitive) and Imperial Soda Water Works Walsh and Willerton 1869. ALL my Medicine Bottles where dug up in Simcoe County ( Never bought a T.O. Medicine bottle). This areas getting heavy developed for homes during the pandemic so its getting harder these days to find old bottle dumps in this county.

most of the toronto bottles i've found aren't that old , seem to find ones from 30's - 60's more often than anything older

the development is quite crazy , was a wood lot here near a busier part of town ( mature hardwood maple trees mostly ) , was a sign on it for a developer for some time but they never appeared to be doing anything with the lot . then one day around Nov a crew came in and literally cut every single tree down and now its clear cut around maybe 10 or 15 acres . apparently the plan is to build small offices which makes no sense rate now as with covid is virtually zero demand for new office space as everyone working from home .

i had walked thru it once maybe a year or 2 ago and didn't find anything but its virtually destroyed now so never know if anything there

Yeah development is a double edge sword when comes to environment and demand of homes in the region. Neat to see a close antique bottler near by , you from bracebridge, gravenhurst or Huntsville? I'm from small town Elmvale, Neat fact are towns underground Aquafier is Cleanest water in the world. About water/Soda, how Browns was soooo popular in the 1900s- 1960's because how polluted the lakes and streams where in muskoka from the sawmills and farther north mining runoff was a big problem, Browns helped make soda easy to get around muskoka & Parrysound region where groundwater/wells where polluted. I noticed browns beverages evolved into today's Muskokas Springs. both muskoka Springs and Muskoka Brewery pull out old 100 year old family recipes once and a while out the brown family famous "black book". An example is a few years ago at lcbo Muskokas brewery came out with Gin and tonic docker with lime and cucumber from the "black book" , for example; I can see back in the early 20th century a American traveller getting off the steamship in Georgian bay from Chicago, sitting back on a muskoka chair at a Port resort/Inn and having a Browns beverage . These creative recipes where accomidate for tourist both American and Canadian in the summer.
