Found this interesting 10 inch tall thick glass octagonal bottle on a dig near Rhome TX. Diamond logo with 823 on bottom. After a long internet search best age I can come up with is approx 1920. Can anyone provide further information about age and what it may have held?

Looks like a pickle jar to me, and I would agree with it dating to around 1920.

I agree with Sandchip that it is a pickle jar. I too am leaning more toward pre-Great Depression times. Also, it is reminiscent of the condiment jars that held relish, horseradish, or picante, etc... but they were much smaller.

Thank you very much for the input. Curious that it may have held pickles. Opening is only 1.5 in diameter.

My guess would be some type of relish.
