I was looking at a painted turtle at my favorite fishing hole. I was able to get real close to him. When he finally moved in the water, I looked down, and there was this bottle. Surprised me, since it is in an area where everyone fishes and hangs out. Not allot of stuff survives around there. Anyway, what is it? An old lotion bottle? Is it rare? Value? or just a common older bottle. Sorry, I have not cleaned it up yet, it has allot of rust and dirt on it from the riverbed.

I've dug two, maybe three Kremls, so I assume they're common here in central Illinois. A fun find, though.

I saw a turtle earlier this year , it was crossing the road near a busy highway interchange so I helped it cross the road , didn't lead me to any bottle finds other than a couple modern beer cans . here is a picture of its shell , don't know what became of it , hopefully it found its way to a nearby swamp

Hey! Thanks for the info. The time period must be correct because it was found right next to an old railroad bridge and the rail line from Camden to Atlantic City NJ, which was abandoned in the early 1960s. So. it's neat to have found something that almost certainly came from the train. Someone must've thrown out it the window as the train travelled over the bridge. Cool. Not much has survived. Most bottles are either buried deep in the mud that is unreachable or has been smashed by kids overtime.

Yeah, here is a pic of the one I saw. I took it as I was leaving, so its a bit distant. He was just chilling out after I disturbed him and found the bottle next to him.
