We found this bottle in the backyard amidst debris from demolishing our porch. After doing some research I’ve figured out that it’s an Underwoods Ink bottle, but I couldn’t find any pictures of bottles that looked like this one. I am also struggling to clean it, this is all very new to me. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated!

Interesting. The form isn't an exact match for the mucilage bottles. I'd say it looks a lot like a bixby blacking bottle. While I agree it's not an ink I wonder if it is an Underwood's blacking?

Great find any way. Not one I've seen before.

Nice find, especially embossed. I dig 19thC ink & mucilage bottles fairly often, but most are slick.
