Just purchased a bottle collection off a fellow on Vancouver Island. He was a diver and a lot of the bottles came from the Victoria area. I can't find out anything about a number of them and will be posting multiple cries for help on the forum. These are the first two. They are around 4 inches high. The pen in the photo gives some idea of the height. The round one has Thorpe & Co. LTD, and Vancouver B.C. on it. The second appears to be a druggist bottle with Charles E. Jones, PPPP, Victoria, B. C. on it. The Thorpe bottle only brings up soda bottles which I have a few of. The druggist bottle is one of a few I have from Victoria that do not appear anywhere on the internet that I can find. Also wondering what P.P.P.P stands for. Really appreciate anyone that can help me out. Thanks in advance.

I think those Thorpe bottles are considered to be a bit of a mystery. They're sometimes referred to as oyster bottles (which would be a pretty weird thing for a soda bottler to sell) and other times as soda fountain syrup bottles (which are usually much bigger). I wonder if they might have contained syrup for home use, like those little Hires Root Beerr bottles.

The Jones bottle I'm not familiar with, but changing the search terms a bit brings up some information about him. I found another one of his bottles online (https://www.ebay.ca/itm/39413782742...TxBePvT+zvRHE+xqP2AXvY+Tc=|tkp:Bk9SR5bGz7zoYA) and a couple mentions of him including an announcement of him opening a store from 1891 and a letter he signed arguing against the legal mandating of embossed poison bottles (https://books.google.ca/books?id=WV...&q="Chas. E. Jones" victoria druggist&f=false).

Thank you very much for the information. Your knowledge and ability to track down answers is amazing. The Thorpe bottle came with a collection I had to buy. I really only collect soda and a few medical bottles but the fellow wanted the whole works to go together. I got four Chris or C. Morley soda bottles and one with AP scratched into it. Those were the ones I really wanted as well as the beautiful drug store one with the huge barnacle. Now I need to get rid of the rest of the collection so my wife is still happy with me. Do you have any idea what price I should ask for the Thorpe bottle?

A few more photos of the collection I purchased. If you see anything that you want a better photo of, let me know. Most are fairly common bottles.

Barnacles are still on some of the bottles. Many have the satin sea glass finish rescued from the depths of the Pacific Ocean.

I like those Morley Bottles. Could be Rare ones but I don't know much about Canadian Bottles. LEON.

Great collection!
Thanks. Purchased it mainly for the Morley bottles, the barnacle bottle, and one of the blob tops with AP etched into it. As my last name is Phillips, I try to get as many Canadian bottles with Phillips on them. Not too many but that makes it a little easier as I don't have a lot of cash.

Definitely some good ones in there! Those Morleys definitely stand out for me as well. I'd be curious to see a photo of the etched AP bottle, as well as to see what that Codd bottle is and the blob to the left of it and thatembossed pumpkinseed flask on its side next to the tiger whiskey. Interesting mix of some great hard to find BC bottles along with some super common stuff. Also interested to see any other unusual BC stuff you got in there, only other BC bottle I can clearly make out is the common Silver Spring beer.
