Hi,
I bought very rare bottle.
As bottle was in terrible condition previous owner cover bottle with varnish to make it looks better.
It looks terrible for me.
Do You think silicon carbide 800 or 1000 in tumble machine can take away varnish?
Mabe I should use muriatic water before tumbling?
Support me with some advices, please.
Maciej
P.S. Sorry, my English is poor because it's not my natural language :)

I'd try soaking in some Acetone to remove the Varnish or what ever is on there first before tumble. if no acetone try Lacquer Thinner. Then tumble with Aluminum oxide polish. 800 or 1000 grit silicone carbide to course but might be appropriate only if you can't get the varnish coating off first. LEON.

Glass is much tougher than my hands, when mineral spirts and acetone don't work, I use gas or diluted muratic (hands, haven't needed the big guns for glass yet).

Has anyone tried paint stripper for this task if acetone is unavailable?

As longs as it's NOT ALC, and just glass, it may work?
Just be mindful of whatever you're using for a scrubbing utensil..

Since paint stripper has gone green Enviromental Friendly it does not work on stripping anything anymore. all the highly toxic dangerous chemicals in paint stripper that used to exist is now gone. replaced with useless garbage. Leon.

They're looking out for us whether we like it or not.
That's a shame, no more Strypeze or 5F5 that really works.
I'm surprised that you can still buy acetone in that case; I wonder if you can still buy xylol; prolly not I'll bet.
I had Tenderloin tips for supper and I drive a 16-year old Caddie. Take that EPA!

They pretty much got rid of Lacquer Paint, at least for auto Painting. You can still buy Lacquer thinner though. Leon.
