Hello

I have had a Walkers of Kilmarnock whiskey bottle for years that has decorative pewter mounts around top and bottom. The cork stopper is also pewter. Base has large X and #2452. Pewter is marked M.W.N.Y. Denmark (makers mark?). Does anyone have any ideas about age and rarity?
Thank you for any information provided.

Hello John,

Welcome to the Blue Pages. This is a situation that calls for photos of the bottle, and all the interesting points.

John,

that bottle dates before about 1918, after which the bases were marked with an 'S' rather than 'X'. I have no idea what the pewter parts are for or why. Surfaceone is right that a pic would really help - showing how crude it is. I've been collecting Walker's Kilmarnock for over 10 years and have yet to see one as you describe. If you could post a pic that'd be great and if you're interested in parting with the bottle please PM me here - I am ALWAYS ready to buy these.

Brian
