While clearing brush for a new housing site in West Seattle, I found this solid, heavy, weird piece of glass. It has air bubbles all through it and I believe, smaller, colored pieces of glass on bottom. Has anyone seen anything like this before? If so, any information is very welcome.

Glass slag.

If it was more uniformly brown, or a more homogeneous mass, I might think it was slag from iron smelting.

There almost certainly was a glass production operation near your site at one time, and I suspect what you found is a waste product. Cullet glass, normally added to a fresh melt in less than 20% of the total volume, is usually more uniform in color and broken into smaller pieces.

To me,it looks like some Herxheimer diamonds I have. Are there any inclusions?

Inclusions?

Inclusions are the impurities in. Rocks and glass- sand or basically anything? (Like the black junk in these Herxheimer New York diamonds.). They always did remind me of a big hunk of glass.
Your example of whatever that is, is really huge! The 1 thing I know about herxheimers is when they mine them out of the mud, they need an ice chest to put them in immediately or much of what they found will shatter, only from the slight difference in temperature .
Then slowly, they acclimate them to the ambient temperature.
