Wells rough on tooth ache / face ache. Looks like it says ROUGH ON TOOTH ACNE. I think these were made in the 1970's but I am unsure. I can't find another one or a picture of one. Debossed USA on the base. Great shape and has a little crazing on the base and up the jug sides. Any info will be much appreciated.

Never seen that one before but it definitely looks like something from the 70s.

That is about as much as I know. There is information on line about USA stamped stoneware. Only confuses me more. It states that USA was not used on American pottery after WWII because it was only put on export items. All imported items have their Country of origin. Maybe meant to be an exported item? I'm at a stand still with this one. Thanks for the effort CanadianBottles!

It's possible that they stamped it because it had a possibility of being exported. Seems an odd thing to be made specifically for export, although I guess it could have been exported to Canada since we have plenty of that sort of stuff from that era as well.

It was the law that made them do this. It's weird I can't locate an image is what's got me. Only the one I have, which comes up as sold. Thanks again CanadianBottles!

I did find this trade card that mentions Well's rough on toothache. Apparently they had rough on many ailments. "Rough on Itch, coughs, toothache, corns, pain, worms, catarrh and even rats.
